Omega Ruby Sketches

Howdy, Team Magma and Team Aqua grunts!

Since I have joined your number, here's a few pieces of fanart that I've had a lot of fun creating.

First of all, here's a sketch of May, the girl player character:

Sketch One
I threw in a tiny creeper!Courtney because she seems to have an interest in the player character. That is disturbing her usual behaviour.

I decided to sketch her out properly next, along with her fellow Team Magma Admin, Tabitha.

Sketch Two
I should draw more chubby people, I think Tabitha up there looks really good.

(By the way, I have never heard of the name Tabitha being applied to a man before this game. It's definitely new to me.)

I have a pair of pokemon with clever themed names that make them an automatic duo.

 They are Esau and Jacob.

Sketch Three
Esau means hairy and Jacob means deceiver (or something similar).

Since Electrike is a pokemon that has electricity because of its hair, it made sense to name him Esau.

After I caught Jacob, I'd actually called him Tywin after the character from A Song of Ice and Fire, but having given Esau his name, I went back and named Jacob to match since Mawile is the deceiver pokemon.

As you can see, I'm better at drawing dog like creatures than I am fantasy bipeds.

Speaking of bipeds, my final sketch is of May with another lady character from the game. This time it's Lisia.

(I have a number of pairings for May. It's a little sad.)

Sketch Four
I wish I was better at drawing the same character mulitple times...

 Oh well.

I hoped you liked my sketches!

Kit's Second Visit

The litle fox came to the back garden for another visit this week, and I got some way better photos of it.

 Including this one:

It's looking right at me! It' so close!

 -squeal-

Sorry about the big reflection, I took this picture through the patio window.

After this the adorable little scamp ran off back to the nature reserve, and I was sad.

But no long later, it came back!

 My little fox buddy!

I'm definitely going to be on fox-watch from now on.

I decided to nickname the fox Kit. Because I'm super imaginative like that, but also because it's a unisex name and I don't know if this is a dog fox or a vixen.

I also decided to design a kemonomimi (or anthropomorphised with animal features) version of Kit for fun.

Here are some of the sketches, including a bonus one of regular Kit.

I don't usually draw gawky teens, so it's been a bit of a struggle.
Grown up Kit.
I've tried to keep these as androgynous as possible. Partly due to my ignorence of the real Kit's gender, and partly because I really like androgyny as a design choice.

And I mean actual androgyny, not 'Tetsuya Nomura has issues with drawing masculine looking men' androgyny.

So there you go, an update on my little foxy visitor and some bonus sketches.

Look forward to a proper picture of Kit on Wednesday or Saturday, and follow me on instagram for WIPs and random selfies.

Foxy Sketches for the Discerning Viewer

So, as hinted at on Instagram, I did some sketches of a fox today.

Specifically the little sweetie who came into our back garden today. Being the dork I am I took a tonne of pictures of the adorable creature and picked out a few to sketch.

I don't usually draw animals, so they're a little rough around the edges. But I think I did a good job for someone who hasn't drawn a fox for what must be well over a decade, if at all.

First I want to show you the pictures I used as reference.

I took them with my phone, and I'm not such a great photographer, so they're not super great.

But they are super cute, so it's still worth it.

I have no idea what it's doing in that last photo, but it's adorable and it kept lying down like that.

It's definitely amongst the cutest things I've seen this year.

If you're relatively new to my blog, you're probably wondering where this fox came from. Well, we have a nature reserve at the back of our garden and there are indeed foxes living in it. There's also a hole in the bottom of the fence that the local cats use to get around, and this is a young enough fox that it can squeeze in and out of there.

Anyway, enough prevaricating, time for the sketches.

Sketches numbered in order completed.

 Well, I'm not that bad.

Also, I've got loads more photos that I can sketch from, and probably will.

The Joker has finally been finished

 Yes! I did it!

Joker: Then and Now
Get ready, the list of media is loong.

 This is:
  • Graphite
  • Copic marker
  • Promarker
  • Derwent Inktense Blocks
  • Watercolours
  • Copic Multiliners
  • Ocaldo Indian Ink
  • and Winsor & Newton drawing Ink
 on Bristol Board.

Because I slept all day, there is no photo of Jon Snow. So to try and make it up to you, here are some sketches for my next big project.

Lady Muffet-Arachnia
This was originally going to be a young her, but I actually like the idea of doing a series of pictures of this character at different points in her life.

There's a painting that inspired this, but because it's at my sister's it's gonna take a little bit to post a photo up.

Hopefully I won't sleep all day tomorrow ^^; so you'll get that Jon Snow picture.

Character sketches, and the Buddleia fiasco

In our back garden we have this massive buddleia plant. Buddleias grow pretty tall anyway, but ours was also right next to the compost heap, so it was massive.

It was in need of a pruning for a fair while, but my dad never got around to it.

Well, the wind decided to do it for him.

Part of the plant cracked right near the root and fell over onto the fence, only because it's so tall, it was hanging into the neighbour's garden. This was not allowed to stand.

My sister Anna and I spent three hours chopping the damn thing up, and by the time we were done, you couldn't tell what had happened. It was amazing.

I also got some awesome pics of a very leggy spider, but I'm tired and it's late, so I'm going to put pictures of my adventures up in a supplementary post tomorrow.

 Anyway, now to the sketches.

Top- Lucretia, Julie, Melissa
Bottom- Joshua, Sebastian, Zachariah

Lucretia is modelled after an Italian supermodel, who's name completely escapes me (crap). Julie is modelled after Emilie de Ravin, only she's much taller than Miss de Ravin as she's a air hostess. Zachariah is based on Francis York Morgan from Deadly Premonition (which you all know I love). Sebastian is based on a Lucius Malfoy-ey type look, even though I screwed up his eyebrows.

Melissa and Joshua aren't particularly based on anyone.

So the lesson here is, Haz needs to get back into drawing, because she's sorely out of practice.

Character study- Wolfy (face)

So, more sketches and this time all of the same person. This is where I get to show off how awesome I am by comparing the first sketch of Wolfy with this current set.

Picture on the left is from the 23/5/2011, picture on the right is from 5/6/2011. Just in case you can't read my atrocious handwriting.

 Why the massive difference?

Well, it's all down to one dreamy, dreamy man: Scott Clifton. Google him, it is totally worth it.

Sketches: 30th-31th May

So, here's another batch of sketches. I think I'm getting better at them.

This is Elizabeth, another character from Doug, and if you want to know more about her and the project she's in, follow this link.

She's based on Sammy Jo Wilkinson, following the trend of Epic Fail characters to be incredibly good looking. Her reference picture is on this page, it is a few posts down though. I would link you to the page I used for her picture, but the first time I went on it, I got a pop-up ad for 'she-male cams'. I do not wish to share my misfortune with the rest of the world.

More sketches - Part Two

Okay, so this is part two of my sketch posts. I did all of these within a 24 hour period to celebrate no longer having exams. Especially as I wasn't allowed to draw wolves the day before my exam as I put so much detail into Matt the wolf that I stayed up until 4.30 am to do it.

 So, onto the sketches.
This is another attempt at Jason, this time I used this picture. Which was frankly a better one to use as I could see both of his eyes this time. Like last time, I'm going to link you to Doug's character construction post so you can see more information on Jason.

More sketches - Part One

I've done a lot of sketches lately, especially lately, so I've had to break this post into two.

 So, on with the sketches.
This is Errol, he's another one of Doug's characters. I used Hiroki Narimiya as a base for the picture, but it wasn't my intention to make Errol look much like him as Errol is meant to be Scottish.

So, I've been busy sketching

This is a bit late, to be honest. I've been a bit distracted by exams and such, so I didn't get these up as quickly as I would've liked.

I did five sketches over an eight day period earlier this month, and I actually used reference! Go me!

So, here they are, with the reference noted underneath with a brief description of who these characters are.

This is an early sketch of Jack, an immortal mage from a videogame project of mine. I based his features on Vukasin Brajic,  a singer from Serbia who I first saw on Eurovision when he represented Bosnia and Herzegovina. I used this picture for the sketch.
